TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Ltd Acquires Lubricants Plant and Expands its Business in blending of Lubricants

 

 

Dar es Salaam, February 8, 2019 - TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited acquisition of Lubricant blending plant located at Chang’ombe Industrial – Temeke, Dar Es Salaam, closed in January 31, 2019. 

This acquisition puts TotalEnergies Tanzania as the only multinational company in the country with a lubricant blending plant that will see more than 15,000 metric tons of lubricants, greases and coolants blended locally for local use and exportation to the nearby regions.  

For almost 50 years of its presence in the country, TotalEnergies Tanzania Ltd distributed and marketed lubricants that were imported from other affiliates of the Group or locally blended in Tanzania. From now on, the blending facility will respond to the full local requirements and export market.  

The acquisition of the blending plant will allow TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited to reinforce its existing growth and expansion strategy and will contribute to Tanzania’s industrial development. 

This blending plant will also lead to increased employment opportunities for Tanzanians.
